Two friends of a police officer allegedly stole cash and gold from her home after she invited them to lunch.

The complainant, Meenaskshi Devi, a constable working in Ludhiana police lines at the PCR branch, said that she had invited two of her friends, Rimpy and Preet, for lunch on October 1.

He said that while he was cooking, the two women were sitting in his room watching television. The women stayed at her house until the evening and left around 10 p.m.

The next morning, when the author checked her almirah, she found four gold rings, a gold bracelet, a gold nose pin, a pair of gold earrings, a pair of silver anklets, a silver bracelet and money. in cash in the amount of $30,000 missing.

The victim said he suspected the duo was behind the robbery since no one else had come to his house that day. Additionally, the two women’s phones remained turned off.

The officer said he tried to contact them on his own, but to no avail, after which he filed a police complaint.

Deputy sub-inspector Dharminder Singh, who is investigating the case, said a case has been registered against the women under Section 380 (theft) and 34 (acts done by several persons in pursuance of a common intention) of the Indian Penal Code. The police have launched a search for the women.
